The movie opens with a crazy action scene in which Jamie Foxx is shotgunning at an old lady who turns up to be a vamp. The two of them then have a wild fight that turns out to be a great time. This movie has a great deal of fun with rag-doll physics, which makes the action scenes pop in a way other Netflix action movies (or blockbusters) don't.
Day Shift is a movie so bad that it's funny. It's so obvious what they were trying to do, and yet they failed so miserably. It is lacking in acting ability, dialogue, and plot. I still enjoyed it. It could be that I am a sucker of vampire movies, or it could just be that I love watching bad movies. Day Shift was enjoyable. It's not a great flick, but it's fun. This is what I really want in a movie.
Day Shift is a mixed movie. There is (get more info) some great action and fun characters (the brothers Seth and Seth), but the villain is horrible and there are many mediocre characters. It felt like some scenes had been left out. Bud's neighbor behaves like she's a friend, even though she only had 3 minutes of screentime before the final scene. It seems that this helps the stronger characters shine more. The movie is enjoyable overall, but there were some things that could have been done better.
Snoop Dogg was almost forgotten about. He's fantastic in Day Shift. He makes the whole movie worth watching. His comedy is great and he's funny. But he is also so natural in his role. He's natural at the role.
